3D scanning work to obtain a digital model that allows design modifications and be tested in aerodynamic simulators, avoiding costly real trial-error procedures. The reverse engineering procedure allows us to obtain information or a design from surfaces, and 3D scanner technology is an indispensable tool for sectors such as industrial metrology, the possibility of obtaining a virtual model completely faithful to the original in high resolution opens a huge field of possibilities for different disciplines.

Once the digital model is obtained it is possible to reproduce it in different materials by means of CNC milling, 3D printing or to carry out design modifications. As a particular observation to this project, we can indicate the deformations of the bodywork detected when using the elevators, as well as the use of antireflex powder to improve the quality of the scan.
